Tips for enjoying it

  • Slurping is normal, and is even said to bring out the aroma.
  • Many soba restaurants bring sobayu (the water the noodles were cooked in) at the end, to mix into the leftover dipping sauce and drink.
  • Cold soba is especially refreshing in summer.
